How it works
Epoxy countertops are created by applying layers of resin over existing counters. We prep, prime, add color and design, and finish with a clear flood coat for depth and protection.
Why homeowners choose epoxy
Many homes in the area still have builder-grade laminate. Epoxy gives a high-end look at a lower cost and without demolition. It is also popular for rental kitchens and bathrooms that need a quick upgrade.
Design options
- White marble with gray or gold veins
- Metallic swirls in silver or copper
- Solid colors for modern kitchens
Care
Use trivets and cutting boards. Clean with mild soap. Scratches can be repaired with a recoat.
Timeline
Most kitchens take two to three days.
Questions
Can it go over tile?
Yes, after leveling.
Is it heat resistant?

What to expect on install day
Before we start, you will want to clear the counters and the cabinets directly underneath. We cover cabinets, floors and appliances with plastic and tape, remove or mask the sink and faucet, and set up fans for ventilation. The existing surface is sanded and repaired, and any seams or chips are filled. On the first day, we apply primer and base colors. The design layer and clear flood coat follow, and the resin cures over the next day or two. During that time, the kitchen should stay dust-free and pets should be kept out of the room. We return to remove protection, reinstall fixtures and check every edge.
Rental and investment properties
Epoxy counters are a fast way to update rental kitchens and bathrooms between tenants or guests. The upgrade improves listing photos and can help a property stand out without the cost of stone. Because the work happens in place, there is no waiting on fabrication or templating. Many owners combine counters with a garage floor during the same turnover period to make the most of a short vacancy.
Outdoor kitchens and bars
Covered outdoor kitchens and bars on lanais are common here. Epoxy can work in these areas if they are shaded, since direct sunlight causes yellowing over time. We use UV-resistant topcoats and help you decide whether a spot gets too much sun. For fully exposed counters, we may suggest a different material altogether rather than risk a finish that fades.
Durability and repairs
Epoxy is hard and stain resistant, but it is not indestructible. Sharp knives and hot pans can leave marks. The advantage is that epoxy can be lightly sanded and recoated to remove damage, unlike laminate or many stone surfaces. With normal care, a well-installed epoxy counter looks good for many years.
Bathrooms and vanities
Bathroom vanities are a quick, affordable place to start. Most can be finished in two days, and the seamless surface around sinks is easier to keep clean than tile with grout lines.
Choosing colors for small kitchens
Many kitchens in older homes are compact. Light colors with soft veining make them feel larger and brighter, while dark counters can feel heavy in a small room. We help you choose a palette that works with your cabinets, flooring and backsplash, and we can match accent colors from existing hardware or lighting fixtures to tie the room together nicely.
We bring finished sample boards to every estimate so you can see and feel the gloss, depth and veining before choosing a design for your space.
